How to break free from overwhelm!

Waking up to the sound of one million thoughts running through your head is all too common. The idea of rolling over and going back to sleep is so tempting. But you know that you have to get up and do all the things. So up you go, trying to do the simple tasks of waking up without losing your mind. You know that something’s gotta give because this feeling, the wound-upness, is not a place that is enjoyable to hang out in. But how?


Here are a three easy steps on how to break free from overwhelm:


1. Prioritize


Sit down for 5 minutes and write down a list of all the things running through your head that you have decided you need to do today. Now you get to go through that list and choose the most important ones. Set a goal to achieve those today.


Affirmation: I am in control of my life



2. Progress over Perfection


Focus on making progress through Imperfect Action. What is Imperfect Action? It's moving forward past perfectionism and giving things a good old fashioned try!


Affirmation: I release the need for perfection



3. Remain Present


You can avoid the stress of the future and the anxiety of the past by focusing on the moment. Besides avoiding stress and anxiety (big win already) remaining present will allow us to complete the task at hand much quicker and with more enjoyment!



Affirmation: I let got of the past and the future. I am here now.
